The Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) is an international initiative that brings together farmers, companies, non-governmental organizations, experts, governments and inter-governmental agencies concerned with ensuring the sustainability of biomaterials production and processing. The RSB was originally established in 2006 as an international standard for sustainable biofuels. The RSB has broadened its scope in 2013 to include biomaterials.

RSB Accreditation Process
In August 2013 ASI entered into partnership with RSB to provide oversight of the RSB certification system and independent accreditation for all certification bodies offering RSB services.
The ASI accreditation process covers all aspects of the RSB sustainability standards. Certification bodies have to demonstrate competence in implementing the RSB standards relevant for feedstock production and chain of custody.
