Who decides on the interpretation of the rules if a standard is not clear?
It is the responsibility of the standard setter to develop a set of rules for certification and to clarify rules if necessary. Standard setters often publish a separate accreditation manual with guidance for the accreditation process.
Accreditation Services International does not provide interpretation of the standards or certification criteria and will seek clarification from the respective scheme owner, if necessary.
