Accreditation means that we assess organizations that provide certification, testing and inspection services against internationally recognized standards. It demonstrates the organization’s competence, impartiality and performance capability and is the key to reducing risk and ensuring that consumers, suppliers and purchasers can have confidence in the services provided.
Accreditation Services International (ASI) is one of the world’s leading accreditation bodies for sustainability standards systems. Our business is to provide assurance and trust in certification.
ASI’s Accreditation Committee reviews ASI’s assessment reports, ensuring that the assessment process provides enough information for sound accreditation decisions and that the recommendations included are justified.
The ASI Board of Directors provides an external oversight of ASI’s operations to strengthen the competence, independence and impartiality of the organization.
ASI is committed to providing services, which meet or exceed our stakeholders’ expectations. We constantly monitor our performance and our management system is subject to comprehensive internal and external review processes. In order to ensure that we continuously improve our ability to deliver high-quality products and services we have several core processes which you can learn about here.
Accreditation Services International takes pride in the high level of professionalism and competence of its staff. All staff follow a continuous professional development program, including bi-annual training and calibration workshops at ASI headquarters. New lead assessors undergo a six-month training period before performing their first assessment. All staff performing assessments are trained as ISO 9001 Lead Auditors and most are SA8000 qualified. ASI welcomes spontaneous applications from qualified auditors.
