Accreditation of National Initiatives
National Initiatives are the foundation of FSC's global network and operate in close coordination with Regional Offices. To ensure that they operate consistently and in line with FSC requirements they are accredited through the FSC Accreditation Program.
FSC Accreditation Program has to date recognized 45 National Initiatives who comply with FSC requirements.

Applying for National Initiative Accreditation
Individuals or groups interested in responsible forest management and certification who want to become part of the FSC network can apply for FSC accreditation.
FSC working groups set standards according to FSC requirements which can be forwarded to FSC Accreditation Program for recognition.
The requirements for National Initiative accreditation are described in the National Initiative Manual.
